Thanksgiving Weekend

Madison
"Quit pulling my hair!"

Only infants can make this fashion statement work :)

We took Aunt Karlee shopping for wedding dresses.  She looked SO beautiful in all of them!  And NO, this is not the dress she picked!

Lauren got to try on flower girl dresses too.  So fun!

The twins were excited to meet their Aunt Holly for the first time!

Our Katie-Bug is getting so big!  She's up over 8 pounds now.  Yay!
I promise I won't make you wait so long for more pictures.  I'll try to put up another post full tonight or tomorrow.  Stay tuned!

Professional Newborn Pictures

Happy belated Thanksgiving!
We had a great long weekend here at home with my family--my parents, my sisters and my sister Karlee's fiance Matt were all here.  We enjoyed many 'game nights' and spent most of the day Saturday shopping for a wedding dress for Karlee (I think she found the one!!)  You would think that most 3-year-olds would choose to play Candy Land or Hungry, Hungry Hippos on game night.  Not mine!  My sisters taught Lauren how to play Battleship, Mastermind, Uno, and Racko.  Battleship is her new favorite, although it's difficult to play against her because she prefers to sail her ships all around the ocean while you play her.  Makes it kind of tough to sink her ships :)
I have pictures to share from our visit but haven't loaded them onto the computer yet.  Instead, enjoy some of the pictures from the twins' newborn photo shoot.  I can't decide which ones to enlarge for our house!!

Have a good week!
Love,
M

Photos, Photos and More Photos!

Tummy time for the first time.  They liked it (aka tolerated it) for about two minutes.

Kate enjoying tummy time while propped on the Boppy pillow.
This next series of pictures makes me laugh.  I wonder what they were each thinking?

"Kate, please don't punch your sister!"

Bath time wore her out!  Kate fell asleep on the changing table right afterwards!

My dad was here to celebrate his birthday.  Happy birthday Boppa!

Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!  We will be celebrating with my side of the family here at our house.  We are excited for the girls to meet their Aunt Holly for the first time!!

Halloween Fun!

A quick update with lots of pictures....

We are all doing well.  At the twins' one-month check-up (can you believe they're a month old already?!?!), Madison had grown to 8lbs 6oz (up a pound and a half in a 12 day period) but Kate had only grown to 5lbs 5oz (up 3 oz in a 12 day period).  We have since had to make a change in how we feed Kate.  They both get only breastmilk but Madison nurses exclusively while Kate gets a 3oz breastmilk bottle at each feeding (after nursing for a little while).  We discovered that the problem was she wasn't sucking strong enough when nursing to get enough milk.  Thus the need for a bottle too.  It has worked!  Today I took Kate in to the doctor for a weight check and she has put on a pound in 8 days since starting the bottles.  Woohoo!

Lauren has had a whole lot of Halloween fun in recent days.  She visited Flabbergast (an indoor inflatable playplace) on Halloween with her daycare friends.  She and Sophia had a great time at the Trick or Treat Path in Pewaukee.  They got to go around a path and trick-or-treat from various Disney characters.  We discovered that both girls are terrified of costumes with masks.  Lauren was even scared of Mickey Mouse initially!

Trick-or-Treating with the Dinner Club.
This is as close as the girls would get to Mickey!

The babies enjoyed watching a recent Badger game on tv.  Must not have been the Michigan St. or Ohio St. games...
This is how Kate likes to "roll" in her carseat.
The newly-engaged Karlee and Matt.  They came for a visit while in town for a friend's wedding.
Lauren painted pumpkins for her sisters.  Too cute!

If you can tell that this is short and sweet, it's because it's bedtime and I'm exhausted.  The babies are sleeping well at night though!  They continue to do four-hour stretches and wake at the same time to eat.  I can't complain about that!

M
